For those of you coming from primary school, your move is one of great significance within your life, and a scary thought no doubt, as nerves begin to set in. So let’s separate the facts from the fiction, high school really isn’t all that scary. The older students are far from big monsters; instead they are truly softies who are always excited to welcome new students. And the teachers are the biggest softies of all (but let’s keep that between us) who love what they do. They teach you many things subject related and many other things that can be used in your everyday lives. The best part is they are always willing to go the extra mile to see you achieve your best. The passion the teachers have truly rubs off on you! It’s infectious!
To all of you, at Lilydale Heights College you will find yourself quickly involved in our school community, faced with awesome new opportunities, new people and new surroundings, a truly different but exciting new world!
New Opportunities
Life at Lilydale Heights College is full of opportunities that may not have been available to you in your primary school. There are the mainstream subjects like English, Maths, Science, History and Physical Education but also electives like Sport, Music, Arts, Food Technology, Media, Coding and Drama; as you experience these subjects you may just tap into a side of yourself you never knew before!
But don’t forget, school isn’t all about academic studies; it’s not a matter of what Lilydale Heights College can offer you, but what you can offer the school! There are many opportunities for you to join clubs, represent the College and participate in College performances. So a word of advice, open your mind and say yes; yes to new experiences no matter how much they may challenge you. The rewards you reap will be boundless.
